Indoor Gardening Accessories
For decades growing plants indoors, whether in homes or small affordable greenhouses, for food or medicinal purposes has continued to grow in popularity. In years past growing plants indoors was mostly practiced in Solariums, Arboretums, and Conservatories. However, as technology has changed and brought this concept to the mainstream more people are realizing the benefits and challenges of indoor gardening.
Getting started in or even adding to an existing indoor garden can be overwhelming with things like heated grow mats (also know as seedling heat mats or propagation mats), grow lights, grow tents, inline fans and ductwork, smart switches, various monitoring sensors and the vast array of accessories that can be added to your project. Knowing which accessory is good and which one is junk or a cheap Chinese knock-off can be as challenging as getting your little seedlings to sprout at just the right time of year.
Additional factors that might play into your decision-making process are do you need to encourage germination by gently warming the soil? How much space you can dedicate to a particular setup? Do you need to use more vertical space than horizontal space? Do you need an all-in-one grow tent / light setup? Do you need to modify your dwelling, such as changing electrical wiring or installing ductwork to accommodate a new or existing setup? Do you want to monitor the energy consumption of LED grow lights or other garden electronics? Do you need to turn on things such as grow lights or heated seed mats at certain times of day and want to do it automatically?
