Gas-powered Weed Eaters

Gas-powered weed eaters can get the job done quickly but at a cost. 2 Stroke engines are the norm for gas-powered weed eaters so you will need to mix the gas and oil at the correct ratios. Over the life of the tool, this may cost you thousands of dollars, especially as gasoline prices across the U.S. rise during the “summer driving season” when gas prices are known to rise for now logical idea but to make big oil companies richer. There are 2 other factors to consider when contemplating buying a gas weed eater 1) The environmental impacts of the production of and burning of gasoline and 2) The health impacts on the user because gas-powered weed eaters spew poisonous exhaust fumes right near your face and you should consider the noise impact on your ears if you aren’t wearing ear protection.

Because TekEons is an environmentally conscious company we admit that our experiences with gas-powered weed eaters are limited. We at this time can’t recommend one brand or model over any others. However, we would greatly appreciate feedback from our visitors who currently or have used in the past this type of unit. You can submit your experiences to us at the bottom of the page.

*If you’re looking to purchase a blade attachment we recommend Gator Grass and Shakespeare brands. Both brands have a section of blades in both metal and nylon that might suit your needs. However, if you’re on a budget Rino-tuff and Weed Warrior brands offer a selection of blade attachments at a lesser cost. No matter the power source of your trimmer you should always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for your specific model as certain models aren’t rated for blade usage, especially battery-powered models.
